CEED 2016 Exam

Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is a qualifying exam required to take admission in Master of Design (M.Des.) programmes at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Kanpur, and Ph.D programmes in Design at some institutes.
CEED 2016 exam will be divided into two parts i.e. Part A which is an online segment contains three sections and Part B containing 5 questions which have to be answered in the answer book provided by the invigilator.

CEED 2016 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying to CEED 2016 exam must satisfy the eligibility criteria mentioned below:
  • Aspirants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Architecture/ Design/ Interior Design or any other equivalent 4 years programme after 10+2.
  • Applicants having Professional Diploma in Design (NID/CEPT or equivalent of 4 years programme after 10+2) are also eligible for CEED 2016.
  • BFA graduates can also apply for CEED 2016.
  • Students having Master’s degree in Arts/ Science/ Computer Applications (2 year programme after 10+2+3) can also appear for the exam.
(NOTE: Candidates having 3 years’ Bachelor’s degree are not eligible for CEED 2016 examination.)

The duration of CEED 2016 will be three hours which is segregated into one hour for Part A and two hours for Part B.

CEED 2016 Counselling/Interview

Qualifying CEED exam only doesn’t guarantee admission to any programme. Students are required to satisfy the other criteria such as Tests or Interviews etc of the respective institutes.
Candidates will need to visit the official websites of corresponding institutes and apply for the programmes individually.

CEED 2016 Exam Syllabus

The objective of CEED 2016 is to evaluate the aptitude of the students for design involving visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity and communication skills. Thus, the questions will be based on the general awareness, mathematical and graphic aptitude, basic designing aptitude, observation and visualisation.
